New York City is an amazing place to live or visit. From its bright lights to its bustling financial district and thriving small communities, New York City is diverse and enthralling; there’s no doubt about it. While the city in general is great to experience at any time of year, there’s something about the holiday season that makes it a bit more special. While the popular tourist destinations have their beautiful and intricate holiday decorations set up, there are hundreds of smaller businesses with their own flair and aesthetic, particularly restaurants. Since New York City has some of the greatest restaurants in the world, I figured I would highlight a few that really stand out when it comes to demonstrating holiday spirit.

Tavern on the Green

Tavern on the Green is located in Central Park and features some of the most remarkable holiday visuals you’ll see from a restaurant. Inside, you’ll find a bevy of holiday flora, including a Christmas tree and mistletoe. While staring at the extravagant decor, why not take a moment to enjoy some of the holiday-themed drinks, like a spiced cider.

Rolf’s German Restaurant

While Tavern on the Green presents a subdued holiday atmosphere, Rolf’s German Restaurant decides to attack the senses with a barrage of tacky ornaments; and it’s perfect. Garland, wreathes, pine cones and various other Christmas trope decorations fill the air and offer a sense of what an exaggerated stereotypical American Christmas might look like.

Industry Kitchen

Industry Kitchen goes to a whole new level of Christmas decorations. While Rolf’s German Restaurant outdoes itself in tacky and kitsch ornaments, Industry Kitchen goes all out, but they do so in a way that is a bit more refined and elegant. The seaport restaurant makes sure that guests feel in the holiday spirit, with various and larger-than-life decorations; lights, wreaths, garlands, Christmas trees and an entryway guarded by two oversized nutcrackers are what you can expect to find at Industry Kitchen.

If you’re looking for a good meal and a way to get into the holiday spirit, visit one of these NYC restaurants. And this is only a small list; there are plenty of other restaurants and stores whose decorations will all leave you breathless and full of memories.
